Laurie Greene, Ph.D.
Consultant, Facilitator, Diversity and Pedagogy
Laurie is Associate Professor of Anthropology and former Chair of both the Latin American / Caribbean Studies and of Women's Studies at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Currently, she is on those faculties and Co-Principal Investigator on a Bildner diversity grant for Stockton.
Dr. Green's experience in professional development and consulting at New Jersey schools is extensive. Her specialty workshops on language and culture are in great demand and include "Home Culture / School Culture: Integration and Understanding," "Educating for the 21st Century," "Culture and the Classroom," and "Teaching as a Cultural Exercise."
In addition, she puts theory into practice by consulting on parenting issues, conflict management and in "Talking Circles" programs that bring community, students, and school personnel together for more productive school environments and improved academic outcomes. Her expertise in diverse cultures has enabled her to become a leader in training World Language teachers and staff to teach culture while teaching communication competence, in fulfillment of NJ state requirements.
Dr. Greene holds a Ph.D. and an MA from Tulane University. Her bachelor degree is from the University of Pennsylvania.
